IRELAND LIFTS WORLD CUP 2007

Barbados : Who could have thought that a horse who, everyone thought was a lame, went on to win the Breeder’s cup. Ireland have Beaten West Indies in the finals Of the cricket World cup, And no one in the cricket Fraternity is able to believe what they have seen. One could not have found a better tie than this one to say good bye to a scintillating series like the World Cup. Having been made to field by Brian Lara, Ireland, displaying superb agility in the field, restricted West Indies to 234 and managed to get the total with 9 balls to spare and 3 wickets in hand. This is the Biggest Upsets of all Times.The Irish have proved that with the Zeal to succed, Nothing is impossible.

The Irish Captain, Trent Jhonston‘s Feelings could well be seen at the Bridgetown cricket stadium as the whole team huddled around a captain who, with tears in his eyes, sat on his knees having made History, making his whole nation proud. The whole stadium stood up on their feet, clapping, to ackowledge the hard work that the Irish team had put in their performance. Johnston, still red faced with joy and tears, said,” This is the best day of my life. I think we have done something really special today. I knew my boys are gonna deliver, But i Still can’t imagine winning the WORLD CUP!“. The Coach, Adrian Birrell, said his team had worked hard and have given a performance that will be remember for a long, long time to come. The Losing Captain, Brian Lara couldn’t believe his eyes as he himself confessed later that “they were too good today.“

Ireland ripped through an army of mammoth giants with teams like Australia (which was then called the biggest upsets of all time), India, Pakistan, Sri lanka and West Indies.

One could feel the ripples this small thunderstorm was about to cause in their first tie with Zimbabwe. No one expected a Team playing their first World cup Match ever, to Slice out such a sensational display of wonderful team-work, coupled by an even wonderful captaincy. The first indication came when they caused a huge upset by humiliating The Asian Giants, Pakistan, first by bowling them out on 132, and eventually leading to them leaving the world cup even before they could make it to the Super 8. This match made everyone sit up and take notice. The assaults continued as Ireland stormed into the Super 8 with no defeats and into the arena of Super 8, taking Heavy weights like Australia and India Head On.

Each and every performance of this fresh and young team of Ireland has been a treat to watch, each resulting in nail-biting finish. While the First match ended as a tie, the second match with Pakistan finished with them having been won with 3 wickets in hand. they lost their First against the West indians falling short by 12 runs. The match with Australia in the super 8 was a spectacle with Australia, failing to make the mark, losing by 53 runs and Ireland showing the world that no team is unbeatable.

At the moment, when the Cricket World had been taken over by Commercialism and Media, and Cricket, the Game, having been taken a back seat for most of the players in the world, The Irish team brings a new sense of Ideas and virtues into the world of Cricket. It has shown to the world how a Game should be played. All it needs to play a Game is Passion. Money has got nothing to do with it.

Choreographing Life

Last few days were spent doing dramatics for my choreo team!. ANd,well..have to say those were one of the very few days when I actually had some fun in that ‘wretched’ Common room of ours.

The usage of ‘wretched’ here is complemented by the fact that i was the Secretory, Dramatics Sub-Committee, Nehru Hall Of Residence. I have nothing against the post and neither do i have any problems against the high standards they demand, but think of having a Daku and gunda as your hindi dramatics captains!!! Last year, I had to make the common room as my second home due to me being needed atleast 8 hrs minimum in the common room!!

So, coming back to the choreo, This was, as the judge commented, one of the best coreo teams she had ever seen. In her own words,”…U people should not waste your talent constraining yourself in IIT. I request u all to try for the National level. Please do not waste this talent here.“

As has been the routine of the last 2 years since i have been associated with the dramatics in Nehru Hall, More halls, infact all the teams this time, tried to make their choreo look like Nehru halls by literally copying the steps and formations from the Nehru Hall choreo Video On DC++. I mean, consider this : A tall guy trying to imitate Chida as the school teacher and scolding a very bad replica of whoever was trying to play Sherpa’s role, in his epic choreo against education.

But ours….as usual the newest and the strangest and the best idea of them all…as usual. COnsider this…16 people completed covered in Silver!!!(I call them my Silver surfers.)

Their entry on stage was BEEEEG!!! WIth Bhaatu playing the Devil as usual,Making the entry with the straps of each silver surfers in his each silver surfer in his hand while they acted as mad pets who kept trying to get hold of rajesh!

I, as usual was surprised when I was called in fora part in the team considering I was one of the worst dancers in the teamlast year. Ifact, so bad was I, That Sam Bose, My captin had once said,” Maa kasam…aaj ke baad agar tum team mein rahaa to main nahi karoonga choreo!!“

I was the Evil business man who had to first, beat up the Shoodra, Rajesh out of his wits first..which i did to perfection) and then had to get a picture of mine with him…and a dance step!!…revolving a Big red cloth over my hed as i had to go around rajesh 4 times..and then run out of the stage before the music ends..that was it…But man…was it fun!!

The second years were Fabulous..and the Hard work they put in was unbeliveable!! Hats of to my Second years except for the one who, tchnically speaking, should have been responisble for it…my dramatics secy, Nitin Garg. Man..I have to define new levels for Low Brain-capacity!!
Man..Dhanno had asked him to but the pack and give the cigerettes one by one to whoever askes for it as the pack was from the drams budget.thig guy was sent to get a pack of cigerettes at 10 PM and this guy, after being called repeatedly, was found preparing for his next-day test in Patel at 1:30. And the reason he gave was “Dhanno ne kahaa tha ki sutta khareedne ke aad apne paas rakhna..dena mat!!..to maine socha ki kisi ko dena nahi hai.Isiliye khareed ke main padhne chalaa gaya.“

Anyways..The man who was responsible fot the spectacle, Siddarth Sherpa. This guy is true Genius. By looks, He is one of the juice in his batch and has a massive female contacts!!..and man..he can act..and dance..!! And how creative he is, is complemented byt he fact that he got calls from A, B and C from IIMs this time.

And with this, we are very well on road for creating history in the IIT KGP social and cultural circuit, by making a first clean sweep ever. One event left (Inter Hall Hindi Dramatics) and we will have got 475 points out of 475 points…winning Gold in All the events of Dramatics cup.

A sentence

….the process going through the 161 exabytes of data generated last year in the internet totally ,( Courtesy : The Hindu) I came through this which made me think whether i should try to take an attempt on what this Gentleman has tried to exhibit with his (a)mazing art of Writng by trying to do which most of us will never even think is possible, but yet is not unbelievable as it exists and is so simple that we think is so simple that it is ignorable, it almost feels like the complexities of simplicity which makes realize that what seem to us is simple, like a bicycle, is actually a very sophesticated balance of the dynamics of Gravitation, Rotation, Gyration, Inertia, Force, Moment and if we want to go a bit more deep will also include things like the exact psychology behind the way we percieve the road in front of us, the role of the position of the stars when we are sitting on the black, somewhat hot, seat of the old, yet, still on the road, cycle and stuff which we cannot even start comprehending which makes me realize the truth about life and everything which we keep looking for everywhere else might actually be something so simple that a 2 year child knows it; and in a way, keeps laughing at us looking at us stupids, who keep trying to make simple things complicated but as it goes, they evolve into one of them which,in a way, symbolizes decay indicating even human rot ,which is in complete harmony with its Definition of life as what is alive, as to die in some way or the other , either by accident, wherein the surrounding acts as abjects of demise for those who believe themselves to be indestructible or by nature which, if we analyze our thoughts properly behaves as god itself and sets the rules of the world and well, as i see it, gives the command in our hands after making the rules and watches us as we destroy ourselves by our own hands and then blame themselves for being an aethist, like the

The day when "I" Was proven Wrong…

Sometimes it happens when u know u have done something wrong and u want to go back and remodel the past the way u want it to be.

It just so happened that i happened to come across this blog in one of the blogger communities in orkut. It seemed to be a pretty normal blog in the beginning and well, I guess we exchanged 3-4 scraps at about 2 am in the night exchanging pleasentaries and well…ending the conversation abruptly, don’t know why.( ‘coz obviously, a guy won’t end a conversatioin with a female abruptly unless it is from the opposite end that this has happened.) . I just dismissed her as another one of the egregarious types who wanted to be left secluded in their cocoon of life and moved on..

So i was pleasently surprised and well….kinda jealous when Out of nowhere i visited her blog again today (I guess After about 3 months) and Quala!!

A Wacky-weekend And a Tag of a NET-FRIEND…

For those who missed me…I have had a loooooong week..especially the weekend being a bit too nectic for a lazy-ass DAWG like me who had to run to Kolkata and come back to KGP in 2 days flat which included a jam-packed train journey to Kolkata, 2 abusive fights with passengers, an over-bearing Taxi-driver and a very verrrrry relaxing body masaage with me sleeping for 15 straight hours after that..

And for those who didn’t miss me….well…

Now this portion of my blog is dedicated to a fellow blogger of mine who just happened to meet me a few days back…(well, I don’t exactly remember which way it was, me meeting her or her meeting me..but do I care??) and well…being a pretty normal guy and a kolkata resident, wen I told her that I will be coming down to kolkata and asked her whether she could spare some verry idiotic moments for me (not even precious!!) , her reply was a pat NO!!….The reason being me being a “NET-FRIEND” and not a “REAL WORLD FRIEND” (special emphasis on double quotes!)

And well..this was the exact reply of hers “yeah i do differenciate between net friends thats da virtual world and reality….nothing personal but cmon u gotta agree 90% ppl here r fake….arnt dey….so its not my fault if i wanna stay on da safe side…evn if u r a nice chap...”

Now that made me think….(though not at that very moment ‘coz well…anyways I had asked it just as a formality given the tight schedule in which I was traveling) the reasons why she didn’t want to meet me. So here were some of the reasons which I could come up with :

1.A DUAL PERSONALITY!! :

If NEO can have it…anyone else can!!

Maybe she Lives the two lives that Thomas Anderson A.K.A Neo used to love…u know..one in the real world and the other in the computers…

Emulating Agent smith “ I see Miss $@@4!n! , I see u have been living two lives…

in one world u are a common college girl who goes to college when it is open, comes home and has food, helps mother with some chores and the rest..i don’t think thay ask u to do anything anyway..being the only daughter (if I am not wrong!) u are frustrarted from some things which u don’t like…and u try to find ways to vent out your anger. U try to find ways to bend realty in surrealism and your study interest has opened a portal for u through which u look beyond the glass mirror and try to tumble down the Rabbit hole.

In the other World, U are a blogger..and a good one at that. U write down things which u can’t say ti anyne else…u want to make the world ..well.infact your blog-space a better space with more and more writings..trying to make the space..atleast this one…..your own. “

2. LOVE-SHUV AND ALL THAT :

She thinks I will try to woo her into love or something ….And if she thinks so…man!!!…does a person have to have a sticker on his head which says “OCCUPIED”????

I doubt I give those type of vibes to anybody anyways…and well..love??…umm…without even a “first sight”???…thts y u call it “blind” love I guess…

3. KILLER ON THE MOVE :

Last but very well maybe possible,…Maybe she thinks I am a very sophisticated contract-killer who makes contact with the subject and befriends him/her before he makes his move….

If they give a knife with a fork..is it my fault???

Maybe she mistook my instincts to be my profession!!…happens.. 

So anyways, Madam, If u are reading this, I cudn’t have met u anyways…

My keyboard is back!!! (For those who didn’t know..i was working with the on-screen keyboard for I dunno-how-long..seemd like eons to me!!) My lappy keyboard doesn’t work in my case…and well..my favorite keyboard was back after some tweaks.. !!

Mmmmmmmmmm…..the fingers feels gr88888…
